Kendrick Lamar is bringing a very special guest to the Super Bowl.

A new trailer for the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show released Thursday revealed that SZA will join Lamar as a special guest for the performance on Feb. 9.

In the trailer, the “Not Like Us” rapper talks on the phone while standing on a football field and notes he’s been thinking about a guest performance. As he’s talking, SZA walks up behind him and dumps a bucket of Gatorade over Lamar in slow motion.

The announcement comes days after SZA’s film with Keke Palmer, “One of Them Days,” came in at No. 2 at the box office and received critical acclaim.

SZA poses during the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 1, 2024 in Hollywood, California.

Lamar was revealed as the Super Bowl halftime show headliner in September. The news was initially shared in a video that showed the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper on a football field in front of a giant American flag.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” Lamar said at the time. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Lamar and SZA have collaborated numerous times, including “30 for 30” from her December album “Lana.” SZA also appeared on the tracks “Luther” and “Gloria” from Lamar’s latest album “GNX,” which dropped in November. Their 2018 track “All the Stars” from “Black Panther: The Album” received an Oscar nomination for best original song.

In December, SZA and Lamar announced they will perform together on the Grand National Tour, which kicks off in April.

SZA and Kendrick Lamar perform during the 2018 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival on April 13, 2018 in Indio, California.

Lamar is coming off a massive year that saw him feud with fellow rapper Drake, culminating in Lamar releasing the brutal diss track “Not Like Us.” The song, in which he hurls insults at Drake, became one of the biggest hits of Lamar’s career, and it was nominated for record of the year and song of the year at this year’s Grammys.

Lamar previously performed in a star-studded Super Bowl halftime show in 2022 alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and 50Cent.
